The Leachate Treatment Plant is a simple biological process plant.
Leachate from the landfill cell, waste water from the septic sludge treatment plant, waste water from the wheel wash station and sewage water from staff facility is treated at the plant.
The leachate treatment plant has a capacity of maximum 192 m3 per day or 8 m3 per hour.
The entire operation is running by gravity. It is not possible to empty the basins, because of the low position of the basins. The basins have to be emptied once a year using a submersible pump for removing settlements.
